FOR the second consecutive year the gospel concert pulled a large crowd to the jam-packed last day of the Rand Show.
This is according to the show's media liaison officer, Teresa Settas. "The concert created a family atmosphere and parents came with their children and it was nice."
South African Music Award-winning gospel group Joyous Celebration dished out its uplifting tunes, spiritual hymns and praise songs at the concert, during the last hours of the Rand Show.
As usual, this year's show, the 112th, had a large selection of exhibitions to choose from, ranging from interior design and furniture to outdoor equipment. International traders from Syria, India, Pakistan and Egypt also exhibited their products.

A great line-up included concerts such as The Masters of the Beat, the Afrikaans Music Festival and a Bollywood festival. The Kaya FM Afropolitan Lifestyle Experience was held for the first time - and it was set to become a firm favourite, Settas said.
"A quota of the number of people visiting the show was taken at 5pm and the figures stood at 445 283. By 8pm, when we closed down, the numbers had moved up to 453 574."
Settas said that the organisers were happy with the attendance figures, adding that they had received all the support they needed from visitors and exhibitors.
Ryan Downing, the Rand Show's general manager, said that in the 112 years it had been running, the show had kept changing and adapting to offer visitors up-to-date and trendy entertainment. With this year's theme, "Bring everyone", the show had something for everyone to enjoy.
Other performers who rocked the last day included artists like Arthur, Chomee and Somizi, while bikers and skaters kept the extreme sport fans on the edge of their seats with their amazing stunts.
The show was successful from the first day, Friday, 30 March until its last day on Sunday, 15 April, Settas concluded.
